Now that Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge are available around the globe, potential buyers are looking for some of the best Galaxy S7 deals. Luckily most carriers and retail stores have a few great options, and below is a continuously updated list of the best Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge deals available right now.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 was finally released on March 11th in the United States from Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, Sprint and more, and it’s also available from Best Buy, Walmart, Target, Staples and other retail locations. If you’re looking to get the best Galaxy S7 price or deal available, or some free goods, read on for more details.
Read: Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Review
Samsung is firing on all cylinders for the Galaxy S7. Select buyers who bought the phone before March 18th will get a free Samsung Gear VR virtual reality headset, Best Buy has Galaxy S7 deals with a free micro-SD card, and even Sprint and T-Mobile have savings you need to know about before buying this new phone.
As expected, the Samsung Galaxy S7 has a stunning metal design that’s similar to last year, but polished and rounded off on all sides. It has a more powerful processor with 4GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, and the company returned the micro-SD slot for owners to add extra storage for photos, videos and more.
It also has what Samsung thinks will be the best mobile camera to date, a new 12 Dual Pixel camera sensor, huge batteries inside coming in at 3,000 mAh for the S7, and 3,600 mAh for the Edge with fast and wireless charging. To top things off it runs Google’s latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, and is completed by an IP68 dust and water resistant rating. It’s the best Samsung Galaxy to date, and here are some great deals you need to know about.
Update: Starting April 1st until the end of June, Walmart is offering $150 off the Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge on monthly payment plans from AT&T, Verizon and Sprint. This is one of the best deals currently available. However, those on T-Mobile will have to look elsewhere. The Galaxy S7 international (Exynos 8-core model) is also being sold unlocked on eBay for only $599. Making it one of the cheapest Galaxy S7’s around.
Update: Ahead of the March 11th release date, AT&T has confirmed the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge have been added to its “Buy one Get one Free” deal currently going on for other smartphones. Those who buy a Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge can get a second for free (with a qualifying new line) through AT&T. However, it’s only the S7 model, with those choosing the free 2nd phone as the Galaxy S7 Edge getting a credit of how much the regular Galaxy S7 is worth. So the Edge will still cost buyers a few dollars.
Starting March 9th, T-Mobile countered AT&T and is offering the same thing. Buy one Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge from T-Mobile, and get one free. This is the best move for families, and for everyone else continue reading for other great deals from both these carriers and more.
As March comes to a close, the free Samsung Gear VR deal is now over, but those who bought one before March 18th can still head to the Samsung promotions website and reserve their free Gear VR. Do it before it’s too late.
Galaxy S7 Deals
For now only a few deals are available, but now that Match 11th has passed expect more exciting deals to surface and entice customers. That said, Samsung, T-Mobile, Sprint, Best Buy and more have all announced awesome Galaxy S7 deals you should know about.
Buy the Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge before March 18th and get a free Samsung Gear VR headset and 6 VR games absolutely free, a $150 Value.” — Samsung PR
The first deal all buyers need to know about is the free Samsung Gear VR. It’s usually $99, and makes virtual reality content affordable and fun. Those who pre-order or buy the new Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge between February 23rd and March 18th will get the Samsung Gear VR and six virtual reality games absolutely free. This is a $150 value.
This deal is reportedly available from Samsung, Best Buy, and all carriers in the United States. It appears that buyers will get the Galaxy S7, then have to show proof at the Samsung promotions website to claim the free Gear VR. Best Buy has their own inventory of units, while T-Mobile and carriers are sharing available free Gear VR headsets with Samsung. Supplies are limited, so file your claim at the link above as soon as possible.
Update: Back on March 25th users started seeing emails from the official Samsung promotions website confirming the free Gear VR headset was preparing to ship. Many buyers, myself included received emails stating they’d ship on April 1st. However, we have even better news.
This morning Samsung sent another email confirming the free Gear VR shipped March 24th, and many who pre-ordered should see them arrive starting tomorrow. Mine shipped, and is scheduled to be delivered on March 29th. Looks like the free Gear VR units are arriving early too. Is your Gear VR on the way yet?
Best Buy Galaxy S7 Deal
Best Buy kicked off pre-orders on February 23rd, had phones on display the 24th, and released it on March 11th like everyone else. Now they’re on display, available to buy, and Best Buy is giving Gear VR’s out right now rather than making buyers wait.
Select Best Buy stores and BestBuy.com will be offering the same free Samsung Gear VR for buyers, but Best Buy will also be giving out a free Samsung 64GB micro-SD card to customers. Tripling the storage on Samsung’s new flagship smartphone. This is one of the best deals we’ve seen yet, as most are only offering the free Gear VR headset.
This means buyers can head into Best Buy now that March 11th has passed and get their phone and a Gear VR. If Best Buy has any stock left, users may still be able to get a Gear VR.
Update: Best Buy is now selling both the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge (in all color variants) in an “unlocked” and unbranded model. This is what everyone has been waiting for. There are no Verizon or AT&T logos, no bloatware, no Amazon or Lookout Mobile apps pre-installed. Just a clean, unlocked Galaxy S7. The Edge model is $819, and users can assume these will get updates faster than carrier models too. Get them while they’re available. It appears to only support T-Mobile or AT&T, no Verizon or Sprint.
To make things even better, Best Buy is offering a $200 gift card and the Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge for only $1 with a new 2-year contract and trade-in of an old smartphone until April 16th. This deal is rather enticing, and is available in-stores only.
Sprint Galaxy S7 Deals
Out of all four major carriers in the United States, Sprint is asking the least amount for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. All carriers have monthly payment plans, but Sprint is charging the lowest overall price. Here is a breakdown of carrier pricing, with Sprint beating everyone else once all said and done. AT&T is cheaper per month, but Sprint has the lowest price.
- AT&T: Galaxy S7 is $23.17 per month for 30 months = $695.10
- Verizon: Galaxy S7 is $28 per month for 24 months = $672
- T-Mobile: Galaxy S7 is $27.91 per month for 24 months = $669.84
- Sprint: Galaxy S7 is $27.09 per month for 24 months = $650.16 *
- US Cellular: Galaxy S7 is $28 per month for 24 months = $672
The Galaxy S7 Edge is roughly $100 more on all carriers, and Sprint’s final price for the Galaxy S7 Edge is $750, while Verizon and AT&T are both asking over $790. That’s a $50 savings just for choosing Sprint.
However, the deals don’t end there either. Sprint is offering a buy one get one 1/2 off promotion for the Galaxy S7. Allowing users to get one (and the free Gear VR) and a second Galaxy S7 will be 50% off, costing just $375. With another line, of course. Sprint will also offer a new “Galaxy Forever” plan similar to the iPhone forever deal. Allowing users to trade it in every 12 (or so) months for the newest model. While this is nice, buyers don’t get to keep the Galaxy S7, essentially paying for nothing. That said, the monthly payments drop to $25.99 for the S7 and $30.50 for the S7 Edge with Sprint.
Verizon Galaxy S7 Deal
Verizon Wireless was last to announce its deals and they have two that buyers need to know about, but there’s a catch. With Verizon those who pre-order online don’t just get the Samsung Gear VR headset for free. Instead, Verizon is letting buyers choose between a free Gear VR, or the Samsung Gear S2 smartwatch. The latter is worth more, works great with the Galaxy S7, but doesn’t run Android like most smartwatch options available today. It runs Samsung’s own Tizen software. Choose which one you want. And for in-store purchases all Galaxy S7 buyers get a free Gear VR, and $100 off the Gear S2 smartwatch. That’s a good route to take as well.
Then, in a brand new announcement, those who switch to Verizon and buy the Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, or even the DROID Turbo 2 and activate a new line on Verizon get a $100 in bill credit. It isn’t actual $100 cash, but it’s $100 off your bill. Essentially lowering the price of the Galaxy S7 by $100 in a way.
Update: This week Verizon announced a new “Verizon Annual Upgrade” program, allowing those on payment plans to upgrade to a new Samsung Galaxy every year, for free. Similar to T-Mobile Jump or Sprint’s iPhone and Galaxy Forever deals. Verizon offered something similar for the iPhone last year, but now it has been expanded to the Samsung Galaxy and likely the Note 6 later this year.
Buy a Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge and you’re automatically enrolled. Then, as early as 30 days after you get a new phone (as long as 50% is paid off) Verizon customers can upgrade to a new phone rather than switching carriers or signing another contract. Just trade in an old phone and get the newest Galaxy. Meaning buyers can trade in the Galaxy S7 for a new Galaxy S8 next year without buying it outright or paying a premium to upgrade early. Verizon is the latest of many carriers to take this route, so call and check your nearby Verizon store today.
Update March 28th: Verizon also joined T-Mobile and AT&T for the buy one get one free deal. So head into a nearby Verizon store today and get two Galaxy S7 smartphones for the price of one.
T-Mobile Galaxy S7 Deal
Just like all carriers T-Mobile is handing out a free Samsung Gear VR with pre-orders, as that’s something that comes right from Samsung. However, T-Mobile is taking things a step further and will give buyers a free year of Netflix with their purchase of the Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge. The same deal was offered for the Galaxy S6 last year.
AT&T Galaxy S7 Deal
Update: AT&T hasn’t had much in terms of deals, aside from the buy one get one free, but today they announced a pretty impressive deal that will get buyers a free 48″ Samsung HDTV.
Here’s how it works: Buy a Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge with AT&T Next, and sign up for DirecTV (can’t be a current subscriber) and AT&T is handing out a free 48″ Samsung TV. Pretty sweet right? Most likely many users won’t qualify, and below is a chart explaining who can get one for those interested.
If you’re eligible for the Samsung and AT&T free 48″ TV deal, click here for more details.
While all carriers are giving out a free Gear VR, not all carriers are adding anything extra. While it isn’t a “deal” in the sense of the word, AT&T will be offering an all-new companion app for DirecTV customers who buy the Galaxy S7. Allowing owners to watch TV on their new Samsung Galaxy S7, or use the app to control their DirecTV right from their phone. This same new app also works with the Samsung Gear S2 smartwatch on AT&T. If you don’t have DirecTV, don’t forget to disable this once you get the new Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge, it’s in the notification pulldown bar. Just open it, head to settings, and turn it off.
Additional Deals
Another great option is buying the Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge unlocked on eBay. These are international models, which means it has an 8-core Samsung Exynos processor, rather than the Quad-core Snapdragon 820 chipset inside all US carrier models. Performance should be about the same, but these phones are unlocked to work on any carrier, and much cheaper.
It’s worth nothing that these will NOT work on Sprint or Verizon, but any GSM carrier will be fine. As in AT&T, T-Mobile, Cricket, MetroPCS and more. The eBay seller is asking $669 for the Galaxy S7 Edge in three colors, which is a much better deal than AT&T’s $794.99 and T-Mobile’s $779.99 full asking price.
Now that the March 11th release date has passed, carriers are all fighting for more customers to get the latest Galaxy on their network. Verizon and T-Mobile have some great choices, and more deals will continue to arrive in the coming weeks and months. For now these are the deals that potential buyers need to know about. We’ll add more as they are announced.
We’d recommend buyers check with retail stores in their area or popular carriers for other potential deals before buying the Galaxy S7. Again, stay tuned right here for more and more Galaxy S7 deals as they’re announced and become available. Once you get your Galaxy S7 head to SamsungPromotions.com to proceed. Deals and free Gear VR headsets are limited, to you better hurry.
